A sad, pathetic, man would be happy to meet a guy like Derrick. Actually, he would probably hang around Derrik as much as possible just to feel better about himself.
Derrick is a good hearted, well intentioned man who just so happens to have a thing for the vampire that lives down the road, three towns over. Derrick has been turned down very politely by Violette. So many times that Violette has dropped the politeness and now puts on a sour face whenever confronted by him.
